Responsibilities

Full scope optometry including:

  • Comprehensive Eye Examinations

  • Building Relationships

  • Contact Lens Fitting

  • Myopia Control

  • Medical Optometry

  • Optical Recommendations

  • Degree from an accredited school of Optometry

  • Valid California Optometry license

  • TPA Certified

  • Optometry Residency is a plus

Compensation:

Schedule:

  • Flexible Part-Time schedule

  • Full Time schedule is five days (M/Tu/W/F/Sa)

  • 8 complete eye exams per day (minimum average)

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply while waiting for licensing. Must have a valid California Optometry license before the first day of work.

Paid PRE-Optometry InternSHIP

Our Paid Pre-Optometry Internship is ideal for recent graduates and students entering their final year of undergraduate studies (a.k.a. rising senior) looking to apply to optometry school within the next two years. This internship is a unique opportunity to work in a multi-doctor private practice setting. We offer a comprehensive training program with direct patient interaction augmented with assigned reading materials and quizzes. The position is Part-Time during the Summer 2026. The internship is Full-Time during the last two weeks of 2026 and for one year after graduation. The internship is expected to conclude in June 2028.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The goal of the internship is to prepare students for success in Optometry School. We will teach various aspects of optometry including insurance, pre-testing patients, performing optical coherence tomography, obtaining patient's visual acuity, checking patient's eye pressure, styling patients with eyeglasses, and edging lenses, Administrative functions include billing, filing, cleaning, scheduling appointments, and managing inventory. Must be available to work on Saturdays.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Demonstrated interest in Optometry through academic coursework

  • Demonstrated interest in optometry

  • Completed most prerequisite coursework for Optometry School

  • Optometry related extracurricular activities

  • Prior healthcare or retail experience

  • Outstanding customer service and communications skills

  • Enjoys talking and working with people

  • Willingness to learn and excel
